Wakatobi National Park is one of the largest marine parks in Indonesia which is located in South East of Sulawesi Island. Since 2005, this park has been listed in the World Heritage Site. Wakatobi is an acronym of four island names there; they are Wangi-Wangi (WA), Kaledupa (KA), Tomia (TO), and Binongko (BI). Those islands have their own characteristic that makes them be incredible in their own way.

  • Wangi-Wangi Island. This island is also called as Wanci Island which is the main of the every economic activity in Wakatobi. The name of sacred lake is because there is a belief about black crocodile lives there. It makes many people do not dare to swim there.

Even though this island is quite barren, the snorkelers and divers do not want to stop enjoying this ocean beauty in Tomia Island. There are a lot of colorful corals which are like a water flower under the sea. Discovering underwater Wakatobi Island will not be perfect if you do not explore Tomia Island.
  • Binongko Island. Local people in this island still believe about some mystical stories of the island. Some sacred places can be found in this island. Also, it is a home for many iron workers.
